The National Hibernian Digest is Now Online

The National Hibernian Digest, the official newspaper of the Ancient Order of Hibernians now has an online edition, which will feature an archive of past issues.

According to editor Keith Carney, the site will also include expanded news and features not appearing in the newspaper.

The site is HibernianDigest.com, which was designed by Nassau County Webmaster and Division 8 Vice President Joe McDonald, who was named Online Editor of the paper.

So please stop by the Digest website and we ask for all divisions to add the link to the Digest site to its respective websites.

March for Life 2010 Sign-up

Sign-up’s for the March for Life 2010 are over.  Thank you to all those who took the pilgrimage in 2010!   Sign-ups for the 2011 March for Life will begin in December of 2010.

To sign-up for the March for Life on January, 22nd 2010, please fill out the form below. All information gathered will ONLY be used for March for Life 2010 purposes. Once the form has been submitted you will be contacted within 24 hours to confirm your seat on the bus. If you are under 18 years of age and wish to attend with out a parent or guardian you must print the under 18 form (click here) and return the form, signed by your parent or guardian, to St. Patrick’s Church Parish Office.

Those who are approved to take the pilgrimage to the March for Life 2010, St. Patrick’s Church, Glen Cove, will cover the cost of the bus trip to Washington, D.C. as well as the return trip. If you have not yet done so please click here to review the schedule and details of the March for Life 2010 pilgrimage.  Application and permission forms for the March for Life 2010 pilgrimage are found by clicking here. All downloaded forms should be addressed to St. Patrick’s Church, Respect Life Office, 235 Glen Street, Glen Cove new York 11542. The Seafood Raffle is Back!

NOTE: On Every Saturday Tickets will be on sale at IGA Food Basket at 68 Bayville Avenue in  Bayville, NY. You can get directions here.

Division 8 will host its annual Independence Day Seafood Raffle on Jun. 28, 2009.

Tickets, going for $5 a piece, are on sale now.

The Raffle will be drawn on June 28^th and the proceeds will benefit the charities of Division 8.  In the past, the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 8 charities have ranged from the Wounded Warrior project which supports our troops who have been wounded oversees and the St. Vincent De Paul Society that provides assistance to those families and individuals in great need of basic resources to live.
